Colin James
NewMusicForOldFolks says …
When I saw that Colin James would be among the performers on the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise my wife and I were going on I thought I'd never hear of him. Turns out I was wrong. Not only that I owned one of his CDs, Sudden Stop from 1990. It was not one I still play, but I remember liking it after I bought it. Like most of us, Colin James is no longer the guy he was in 1990. He's evolved from a wanna-be Canadian Pop star who could play a pretty good guitar, to a 50-something bluesman who's very comfortable playing music he clearly loves. James will not tear the roof off when he plays, but he will put together a very good band and play some excellent Blues. Check out the newest release, Blue Highway, and you'll see what I mean. I threw "Just Came Back" from Sudden Stop into the playlist below just for kicks. It holds on pretty well.

Bio (From the artist's website)
In the Spring of 2015 Colin James wrapped up his Hearts on Fire tour. After a couple of months of straight touring, Colin was loving playing with the band and really happy with the sound they had created on stage. What better time to make a record? Especially the record Colin had been itching to make for years – a collection of some of his favorite blues tracks. In less than a week Colin and his touring band went into The Warehouse Studios in Vancouver and in just two days, Blue Highways was born. (more)
